Tesla [TSLA] FUD: Accounts Receivable 10-Q Mystery

The goal of this series is to examine current topics being written about Tesla [TSLA] that appear to be stirring up “Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt” (or FUD). The plan is to try to provide reasonable analysis about the validity of the claims. I generally do not link to the articles that “inspire” me to write this, as I do not wish to reward analysis I feel is poor with increased traffic. However, I will freely admit that my analysis may contain incorrect assumptions, and will do my best to acknowledge them in future articles.

Tesla Coverage: High Speed, Low Quality

After the last article that I wrote, I told Zach that I intended to write around an article a week. I’ve got a backlog of ideas for articles, and I wanted to be a bit more responsive to breaking news. I feel like a lot of the articles written about electric vehicles right now are of a lower quality. I wanted to do some research to really help put some of those articles into perspective, and hopefully give people some more data to draw their own conclusions.

Bombshell: Tesla Announcement Implies HUGE Quarter 3

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Company Update from Tesla arrive tonight. I saw the announcement of Jerome Guillen into the President of Automotive position as a big positive. Guillen is an eight-year Tesla veteran with tons of positive experience. The new general assembly line for Model 3 has been attributed to him. He appears to have excelled at every project he has managed at Tesla.

Claims Tesla Semi Is Impossible Seem Illogical

I’ve been reading EV Obsession and CleanTechnica for a while now, using it to help examine electric car costs and pricing to determine how these upcoming vehicles will impact us on a cost basis, and I have read article after article about the Tesla Semi. The articles followed a pattern that it seems like happens with every Tesla product: Tesla announces a product reveal, there are articles hypothesizing about what Tesla will do, then there are articles saying it isn’t possible, then there are articles saying that other companies will do it better before it comes out and no one will care.
