Steady work continues on the Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory, even through the Dragon Boat Festival holiday this past weekend. Let’s check in with on the progress via the latest videos from Wuwa Vision and Jason Yang.

Since the external structure was essentially finished a couple of weeks ago, there’s not much new to see on the outside, apart from some cosmetic work and finishing touches. However, we can see that pipe-laying work is in progress along the length of the factory.

We can also see cement trucks backing into the main building, and other evidence that much of the focus at this stage has, understandably, shifted to work on the internals. Unfortunately, this means that we can’t easily get video footage of the details of the main focus of the work that’s going on, since it’s mostly out of sight. Though, a few photos were shared 18 days ago on imgur that are worth checking out.

We know that the plan remains to have initial pilot production running sometime in September, with an aim for volume production starting before the end of this year, and ramping towards a 250,000 unit annualised production rate sometime in 2020. We may get some more information about the Shanghai Gigafactory’s timeline in the annual shareholder meeting being held this week. Stay tuned for that.

For those of you who are experienced with construction work, please jump into the comments if you can spot anything revealing that the rest of us might not notice in these latest videos from Jason Yang (top) and Wuwa Vision (bottom):
