… in China.
Ford has launched a fully electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) Bronco in China. It is shutting down EV shop in the USA, for the most part, but it is gung-ho about the new electric era in China.
The Ford Bronco BE comes with a 105 kWh LFP battery that provides approximately 650 km (404 miles) of range on a full charge (CLTC rating). Not too shabby. The EREV versions of the Bronco have a 44 kWh LFP battery, providing about 220 km (137 miles) of range on a full charge (CLTC rating).
The starting price is RMB 229,800 ($32,695), for an EREV version. Of course, EVs are cheaper in China across the board, but still.
There are five versions of the electric Bronco overall. Prices are as follows: the two versions of the BEV Bronco start at RMB 259,800 ($36,965) and RMB 282,800 ($40,240); while the three versions of the EREV Bronco start at RMB 229,800 ($32,695), RMB 249,800 ($35,540), and RMB 272,800 ($38,815).
Well, the Ford Bronco may feel like a distinctively American model, but it’s Chinese people (or Americans living in China) who will be able to enjoy the latest and greatest Bronco. At least someone gets to.
