Well … not here, but in China.

The Ora 5, a small “SUV,” is the first new model from GWM’s Ora sub-brand in more than two years. And it was worth the wait. It seems certain the Ora 5 is going to be a competitive, high selling EV.

The model starts at just RMB 91,800 ($13,034) for the time being, but that doesn’t mean it has only 200 km of range. Nope — the base model has 480 km (300 miles) of range, and up to 580 km (360 miles) in the top-end LiDAR trim that currently costs 125,800 ($17,861).

Those are temporary discounted prices. Here are pricing details of the 5 trims, showing normal price (in RMB), discounted price (in RMB), and range:

  • Air — 99,800 — 91,800 — 480 km
  • Pro — 109,800 — 101,800 — 480 km
  • Max — 119,800 — 111,800 — 580 km
  • LiDAR — 123,800 — 115,800 — 480 km
  • LiDAR — 133,800 — 125,800 — 580 km

The RMB 8,000 discounts are on offer until December 31.

Interestingly, rather than getting batteries from CATL like is typical, Ora is getting the batteries for the 5 from Svolt Energy. Navigation on Autopilot for the city and the highway are provided via Ora’s Coffee Pilot Ultra ADAS. Specs of the new model are as follows:

  • 4,471 mm in length
  • 1,833/1,844 mm in width
  • 1,641 mm in height
  • 2,720 mm wheelbase
