Something is going on over at Waymo. The company has just reached 150,000 trips a week for paying customers. But what’s most impressive is Waymo reached 100,000 trips a week just two months ago! That’s 50% growth in two months!

Concerning the new milestone, Waymo writes, “Waymo One is now providing over 150,000 paid trips and driving over 1 million fully autonomous miles every week. The future is here, it’s growing, and it’s taking riders safely to their destinations every day.”

The rapid growth just makes me wonder, how fast can Waymo now grow and expand? The company has been building its foundation for about 20 years. To then go from 100,000 paid passenger trips a week to 150,000 a week in the course of just two months implies that something is really starting to click now.

Unfortunately, the Waymo update doesn’t provide any insights or clues into how the company increased its service by 50% in such a short time. We also don’t have guidance on how quickly Waymo wants to grow from here — both to the 200,000 or 300,000 trips per week level and to the 20–30 million trips per week scenario.

Until we hear more, here are some other recent stories on Waymo:
