In a press release today, the organizer eLife Nordic AB reports a new record for an electric car fair in Copenhagen: eCarExpo. Following are excerpts of the press release, with my own photos, since I just had to go there and have a look:

“The Danes’ interest in electric cars is constantly growing. This was evident during the weekend’s large electric car fair, eCarExpo, in the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. A total of 24,216 visitors came during the fair’s 3 days. This confirms eCarExpo’s position as the largest electric car fair in Europe.”

Already an hour before the doors opened on Saturday, which was the first day for the public, the queue for the Bella Center was long. And on Sunday, it happened again.

We have never had a similar audience flow at any of our fairs. It is clear that Denmark has really become the EU’s leading electric car market, says Gunnar Dackevall, director of the organizer eLife Nordic AB.

It was super cool, and we were super busy all the time, says Søren Hyltoft, head of marketing for Renault Denmark.

Renault’s electric version of the classic Renault 5 was one of many premiere cars at the fair, and one of the big crowd favorites.

A total of 22 car brands were represented, and there was an opportunity to test drive more than 30 different models.

We invest a lot in eCarExpo, but we also get a big return. Not least because we reach so many people who also test drive our cars. It’s completely unique, and I don’t know of any other fair that offers it, explains Søren Hyltoft.

The commercial vehicle trade fair eComExpo, which is aimed at the business world, also set a record. The fair attracted 4,108 visitors on Thursday and Friday.

We have already started work on next year’s fairs. It will be the last weekend in October 2025, and we have received some good input during the weekend, which will make next year’s fairs even better, emphasizes Gunnar Dackevall.
