It’s happening. The first retail Lightning customer announced that they’d taken delivery of their on the F-150 Lightning Forum late last week, meaning that Ford’s game-changing electric pickup is really for-real on the road!

That first customer truck (shown, below) is a top-shelf Platinum Trim silver Lightning that was reserved on May 20, 2021– almost as soon as reservations opened– and transferred into order on January 7, 2022. The historic truck was built on April 18, 2022, and finally delivered to its owner, “Nick”,  last Thursday, May 26th.

As great as this news is, there’s even more good news for Ford fans. It seems like Nick’s dealer did the right thing, and resisted the urge to tack on any additional “market adjusted pricing” nonsense. “I wanted to mention that my dealership carried the exact quoted price, and there is no dealer fee on top of what my build plus taxes already included,” he wrote on his post announcing the delivery. “Granted, it’s a tiny town and Richardson Ford is known to take care of folks, but given the posts of others, I wanted to mention they were doing the right thing.”

Meanwhile …

For undoubtedly scored a major hit against the other electric truck-makers and startups, but they’re not alone in making big waves over the weekend. Over on the Tesla side of things, the Cybertruck seems to be getting closer to production, with Idra Group posting images of its first-ever 9000 ton (!?) GigaPress, which is expected to be used in the production of the Tesla Cybertruck’s single-piece rear underbody when that vehicle finally makes it to production in Q4 of this year.

You can see a few more pictures of Nick’s truck (which seems like it has some Blue Oval siblings to share a driveway with) below, then let us know what you think of this latest bit of electric F-series news in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
