California is a world leader in vehicle electrification, and we’re increasingly seeing that in the industrial vehicle sector. If you want to be involved in leading-edge discussions about heavy-duty electric trucks, your chance to do so is this coming Thursday.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) are co-hosting a virtual workshop this Thursday on the solicitation for the Zero-Emission Drayage Truck and Infrastructure Pilot Project that is coming up. In this workshop, the agencies are soliciting feedback for the solicitation. (Got that?)

The exact time is: 1:00–4:00 pm (California time) on Thursday, June 11, 2020. Information for how to join is on the bottom of this article.

What exactly is the Zero-Emission Drayage Truck and Infrastructure Pilot Project? Glad you asked. The project’s goal is “to fund large-scale deployments of 50 or more Class 8 zero emission trucks per fleet to assess the ability of vehicle manufacturers to produce large numbers of zero-emission Class 8 trucks and to assess the ability of fleets to recharge or refuel large numbers of trucks on a daily basis in revenue service.”

CARB will provide up to $20 million for “large scale deployments of zero-emission Class 8 trucks” and CEC will provide up to $20 million for “equipment and infrastructure to support those vehicles.”

Much more detail on the project and workshop is available here [PDF]. Here’s information on how to join the workshop:
