ClipperCreek* is adding new functionality to its lineup with its all-new dual-headed Level 2 EVSE that allows owners to charge up two EVs from a single 40 amp circuit. As a special lure for existing ClipperCreek owners, the company is introducing the new Trade-UP program that will buy back the HCS-40 or HCS-40P for $250 for each new HCS-D40 purchased.

ClipperCreek has been building EV charging stations since back before they were cool, and now that they are, they are stepping up their game. They’re building on their established position as a U.S.-based manufacturer of EV charging stations with new products that extend the functionality as the needs of their customers change. One way to do that is by replacing single vehicle charging stations with a station like ClipperCreek’s new 32 amp HCS-D40 that can charge 2 vehicles at the same time with just a single 40 amp circuit.

“This dual station saves valuable space and electrical capacity for parking facilities, while also offering a necessary amenity as EV adoption surges,” Erik Mason, a Manufacturer’s Representative for ClipperCreek said. “Experts predict there will be more than 4.3M electric vehicles on the road in the next three years and a recent survey from AAA found that 1 in 5 Americans want their next car to be electric.”

When two vehicles are connected, each will get 16 amps of electricity. If one of the vehicles disconnects or if only one vehicle is charging, the unit will push out the full 32 amps of power to the vehicle to maximize the charge delivered at all times.

The new dual-headed unit is $1,349 directly from ClipperCreek, but owners of ClipperCreek’s HCS-40 and HCS-40P can use the packaging from the new dual-headed unit to send back their old station – and ClipperCreek will buy that back for $250. It’s an attractive offer as it allows owners to double the charging capability at their location without having to run new wiring to the site, as long as the original chargers were installed on 40 amp circuits.

As the number of EVs running around the cities of the world continues to grow, so does the public charging network needed to support them. “We continue to develop products that reflect our commitment to advancing electric vehicles and also bring the greatest value to our customers,” Jason France, President and Founder of ClipperCreek said. “The dual station gives property owners an opportunity to offer double the number of charging spaces they would otherwise be able to support, and does so affordably.”

As with many of ClipperCreek’s other units, the new HCS-D40 comes from the factory ready to be wall mounted or pedestal mounted on a few optional stands from ClipperCreek. Check out the full list of specs for the new EVSE below:
