Tesla Lifetime Supercharging Ends September 17th (Referral Link Thread)
Tesla has announced that it will be ending the lifetime free Supercharging benefit for buyers of new Model S, Model X, and Model 3 Performance vehicles using a qualified referral on September 17th, 2018.
While the financial benefit of lifetime free Supercharging is rather small compared to the purchase price of a $70,000–140,000 vehicle, it is a nice benefit that is definitely worth taking note of.
The current referral program allows each Tesla owner to give 5 new owners lifetime free Supercharging. In exchange, the person referring the new owners is rewarded with a series of rewards. Those rewards are not insignificant and include a Tesla Model S Radio Flyer or a Tesla home charger, a Tesla Solar Roof Tile early invite, invites to Tesla events, a set of Tesla rims, and even a Tesla Powerwall.
With the lifetime free Supercharging program ending, we felt it was a good time to rally the community, to pull together referral links from the community to share with the other members of the community to maximize the benefits of lifetime free Supercharging for our community.
Sharing referral links is a touchy subject, as the person sharing the link is clearly benefiting from people using the link and it can often come off like someone trying to sell themselves, which can just feel gross. After talking through it, we felt that the benefit to the community outweighed the awkward, so we’re opening up the comments in this article for anyone from the CleanTechnica community with a Tesla referral link and the ability to refer people to free Supercharging. Post your their referral link in the comments with the number of open slots for free lifetime Supercharging.
This is also an attempt to help folks in the community who might not have anyone offering them a referral to take advantage of lifetime free Supercharging.
