You have to hand it to the electric vehicle (EV) movement, because the open gates of creativity never cease to impress us. Case in point, these few examples of good old zany thinking and applying today’s technology to answer today’s needs.

Using EVs For Today’s Needs

EVs To Get things DoneElectric skateboards, check. Electric bicycles, check. Electric motorcycles, check. Electric three, four, and more wheel EVs, check. Electric airplanes, VTOL, and other drone-like platforms, check. Electric boats, check. What else is there?

In the end, we’re left to our own devices making our world a little easier to manage and handle. And some people have a pretty good handle on creativity, according to some of these video clips. A flying bathtub for groceries and a miniature riding robot for coffee? Sure, why not?

But wait, there’s more.

Suppose you are close to your grocery store but it’s cold or you just don’t feel like going out for your coffee or local grocery. Simply enough, use your old bathtub, slap on a few electric motors connected to electronic rotors and voila, your very own personal flying tub!

This goes to show that EVs can seriously and fundamentally change your life if you start to see the potential of the electric motor as a means of mobility.

But more to the point, this next candidate also proves that wheelchairs don’t automatically need to come with, well, wheels.

And lastly, one of our favorites, although technically only a concept, the Ring-O EV from Iranian CG artist Mohammed Ghezel. This specific platform truly shows how much an electric drivetrain opens a world of creativity, even on one wheel. Can you imagine sitting inside this electric big wheel, tilting to the side anytime you want to change directions and resting on one of the two external rotary rims? We can!

We hope you’ve enjoyed this brief moment of interesting EV design creativity. We certainly have seen fascinating projects over the years and look forward to more. What strange electric vehicle have you seen that was truly eye-catching?
