Pricing for the Renault Zoe has apparently been slashed in Portugal as part of a new promotional push. The pricing is pretty low, quite attractive. The Renault Zoe ZE 40 Intens Flex (battery leasing option) is advertised at €17,560.
It should be noted, though, that that pricing is with the government incentive (€2,250) already being factored in. Still, that’s a pretty low price. As noted by Push EVs in its coverage, that figure means that the total discount is €9,390 — €7,140 of which would be from Renault itself (assuming a regular price of €26,950). Though, it should be noted that the price in Germany is €22,100, and its £13,995 (~€16,500) in the UK after its £4,500 plug-in car grant.
Here’s one of the new advertisements:
Push EVs provides more: “This price reduction makes the Renault Zoe now a much better alternative to its dirty brother, the Clio. At least in Portugal, others countries may have to wait for the usual June/July discounts to get better deals.”
To explain that last bit more: “Renault usually advertises the Zoe a lot more seriously in the summer, probably because test driving an electric car in warmer temperatures gives a better range figure on the guess-o-meter, which is essential for a good first impression. But in Portugal warm weather is almost a constant during the year and today with 17º C in Lisbon, we see Renault starting a new campaign in Portugal called ‘Electric Days’.”
So, presumably, that means that the company will be rolling out nice discounts similar to the one quoted above in colder markets as the summer gets closer.
