California-based solar company Sungevity has partnered with French multinational electric utility ENGIE Electrabel to offer a full suite of solar services in Belgium.
According to an announcement made by Sungevity, the company will partner with ENGIE Electrabel, a subsidiary of the ENGIE Group, to provide a full suite of solar services to electricity customers in Belgium. ENGIE will market a Sungevity-ENGIE Electrabel solar offering to customers, while Sungevity will provide all aspects of sales, design, installation, and maintenance of its Energy Systems.
The ENGIE Electrabel company already holds a customer base of 2.8 million, but this will be the first deal for both parties in addressing the solar market in Belgium.
“We are excited about growing our European footprint with ENGIE Electrabel, Belgium’s largest utility,” said Jan Slaghekke, Chief Global Officer, Sungevity. “Their selection of Sungevity as a partner to address the burgeoning Belgian solar market further validates the strength of our technology platform and our focused approach to providing exceptional service to customers.”
“The ENGIE Group is undertaking a major transformation and has the ambition to become the market leader in energy transition,” added Philippe Van Troeye, CEO of ENGIE Benelux. “The strategy of ENGIE Electrabel as an energy leader in Belgium is fully in line with this as we look to actively implement it for our 2.8 million customers. Our partnership with Sungevity enables us to provide current and future customers with a turnkey solar solution. Our search for the right partner was extensive and we found Sungevity’s technology platform, customer service approach and brand to be the right fit for ENGIE Electrabel.”
