While Tesla doesn’t really do conventional advertisement (as of yet anyways), the company does periodically release some really excellent videos detailing positive customer experiences.
The latest one details the experience of a man named Clint in Australia with the company’s Powerwall and what is presumably a SolarCity solar photovoltaic energy system. It provides a nice overview of the way the system works.
The video has been very appropriately titled “Fully Charged,” and seems to make it even more clear that Tesla is going to be pushing strongly towards the integration of SolarCity’s offerings with its own energy storage products following the acquisition closing. And the company’s electric vehicles as well, of course. Notably, the customer in the video is a Tesla Model S owner.
It’s also interesting to see Tesla weave in global warming awareness yet again. The customer commented: “I’ve always been interested in the science of global warming, even from a kid. I’ve always been conscious of it. I’ve been telling people that now my house runs on fresh, sustainably sourced local electrons.”
In related news, a residential developer in Australia is actually now in the process of developing what has been dubbed “the first Tesla town” — in other words, a suburb where the houses are all outfitted with Powerwalls, rooftop solar systems, and home EV chargers.
