New Tesla Easter Egg Brings The Party To A Supercharger Near You

It is no secret that Tesla builds cars differently than conventional auto manufacturers. This may stem from the idealist goals of producing only electric cars in a market dominated by internal combustion engines, or maybe just a byproduct of the insanity required to truly believe it is possible to cause a shift in personal transportation themes around the world away from gasoline.

Whatever the cause, Tesla isn’t shy about hiding the crazy, as it has previously let fly some pretty fun Easter eggs like the hidden James Bond Lotus, the Ludicrous mode warp screen, and the more recent rainbow road. Beyond that, just the fact that there is an actual mode called Insane mode, the more recently released Ludicrous mode, and hints at a future release of Ultimate Plaid (all plays on the pop classic movie Spaceballs).

I’m not sure how much longer the Spaceballs themes can stretch, but that doesn’t mean Tesla is going to let up on the easter eggs. The most recent showed up the other day when a YouTuber posted a quick video (below) showing a rainbow charger port party trick that makes the charger port lights flash like a bad acid trip.

Like most of the previous Easter eggs, it doesn’t enable a superfast charging mode or allow you to play Galaga while Supercharging (as was popularized in Ridge Racer on the PS1). Interestingly, the patent for letting customers play ‘mini-games’ while the real game loads expired last year and could be a great time filler for folks utilizing Superchargers.

Anyhow, check out the video below that shows the latest trick Tesla is bringing to the party. If there’s one thing the Tesla is not, it’s boring, and these fun little tricks keep the humor in things and are probably just a way for the overworked, stressed out folks over at Tesla to let off some steam in a creative, fun way.
