The website of a new electric vehicle startup by the name of Edison Destiny went live a few days ago, giving us… Not much of anything along the lines of new insight, as the website only features a logo and a rather vague-looking rendering.

Along with the tag line “Building yesterday’s future tomorrow” of course — a rather vague choice of words, leaving it hard to tell if the startup is a serious one or just a vaporware cash grab.

Edison destiny

Going by the name, one would guess that the company is intending to sell itself as a competitor to Tesla. A bit unimaginative, although perhaps English isn’t the first language of those involved?

Digital Trends provides more:

On a completely unrelated note, the website of start-up EV manufacturer Edison Destiny went live today. Much like Apple, E.D. is keeping things close to the vest, and has publicized no information about its product other than the shrouded teaser image shown above. There isn’t much to see at this point, but the crossover-ish vehicle looks like a revised version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, complete with fog lights, side mirrors, and a roof.

The homepage’s tagline oddly reads, “Building yesterday’s future tomorrow,” but after a closer look, we found the following excerpt: “Electricity, connectivity, mobility. The dreams of yesterday become today’s future. Harnessing innovation isn’t just inevitable, it’s our destiny.” Hmm.

What to make out of this all? Who knows. My guess would be nothing, but I’d be happy to be wrong. I wonder what the guy below would think if he knew that his name was being used to sell cars a century later.

  • Funny. Sounds like Faraday Future. I hope Tesla kicks Edison’s ass in round two.
