
The standout feature of the Renewable Cities Global Learning Forum that I presented at earlier this year was its focus on action. This manifested itself in many ways, but one impressive segment really provided a “wow” moment. With a huge room filled with cleantech experts from other cities, countries, businesses, nonprofit organizations, utilities, etc., Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and Deputy City Manager Sadhu Johnston sat down with notepads on a stage and simply took notes of advice for ~30 minutes. In particular, they were looking at advice for how to achieve Vancouver’s just-designated goal to switch to 100% renewable energy (yes, energy, not just electricity). Have a listen….
