Jonathon Porritt is one of the greatest environmentalists of the past century, a writer, a speaker, and much more. He also founded Forum for the Future in 1996 and is on the “Selection Committee” of the Zayed Future Energy Prize. He recently came out and made big statements about oil companies not taking global warming and the energy transition seriously, and saying that BP would never abandon fossil fuels, right after Forum for the Future cut decades-long connections with BP and Shell.
I caught up with Jonathan on the sidelines of the World Future Energy Summit and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where I was able to interview him and get much more commentary on this matter, fossil fuel divestment, the Zayed Future Energy Prize, Masdar, and other matters. Check it out here:

*Full Disclosure: My trip to and accommodation in Abu Dhabi for the Zayed Future Energy Prize, World Future Energy Summit, and other Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week events is being covered by Masdar. That said, I have full editorial control over the work and am even publishing it without feedback. I am only covering things that I find very interesting or important, and that I think others will find interesting or important.
