The 2015 Zayed Future Energy Prize Winners Are… (Exclusive Ceremony Videos)
I was honored this year to be brought to Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week on behalf of Masdar’s Zayed Future Energy Prize team. As I noted the other day, the $4 million Zayed Future Energy Prize, established in 2008, is the largest renewable energy and sustainability prize in the world. I call it the Oscars of Cleantech. I’m sure better videos of the awards ceremony will be released at some point somewhere. However, I was eager to record the whole thing for our readers so you can experience it a bit.
The awards ceremony is broken up into a few videos below. I hope you will forgive me for my flaws as I enter into the video production realm a bit. I learned several things this year that will surely make next year’s videos — and videos at other events — much better.
This first video is of the awards ceremony opening:
This year’s Zayed Future Energy Prize received a record 1,111 entries from 84 countries. It received 597 submissions as well as 514 nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award. Those were narrowed down to 31 finalists before the 9 winners were selected. The videos about these finalists are definitely worth a watch, imho.
