Highly Enthusiastic Cadillac ELR Video Review Is Worth A Watch
Ever get so excited about a car that you can’t contain it, and state all sorts of things that really seem to stretch the truth? Yeah, me neither, but that appears to be the case in this recent video review of the Cadillac ELR from TFLCar.com’s Roman Mica.
While I certainly wouldn’t say that the ELR isn’t a quality vehicle, there’s no doubt that the specs/performance and the pricing don’t seem to quite match up — something that is commentated on in a rather strange/humorous fashion in the recent video review.
Here are some of the more enjoyable/interesting comments from the video if you don’t want to actually watch the video. 🙂
“The ELR represents the pinnacle of Cadillac’s design language, like it’s chiseled from a solid block of granite.”
“Sitting behind the wheel of this car I feel that I’m getting every penny of my $76,000 base price. Its elegant, it’s stylish, its comfortable, and, of course, it is expensive, but I feel that is money well spent because it makes you feel special.”
It makes you feel special. Wow. Of all the reasons for me to choose/buy a car, that would be about the last one. When you note that the EV is over twice the price of a LEAF, over $30,000 more than the BMW i3, and more than the base Tesla Model S, it’s hard to see the purchase of the ELR as anything but a status symbol. How can someone justify the purchase any other way?
What do our readers think? I’m quite curious to hear. 🙂
