Barcelona-Built Electric Scooter — Inside Story (CT Exclusive Video)

I’m not catching up only on Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week videos this week. I’m also catching up on some videos from the Fall of 2013! Below is a video I filmed during a field trip at EVS27. This video is from inside the Barcelona factory of electric scooter company Going Green. The factory is actually located in a district of Barcelona that the city is revitalizing as a manufacturing center. Going Green gets a deep discount on rent for creating jobs and building a green product there. Here’s more from inside the factory, and then even more info following the video:

This electric scooter is actually used in a scooter-sharing network in Barcelona called Motit. The network utilizes smartphones and allows you to rent a scooter by time or a distance. If you understand Spanish, the clip below provides more info. But even if you don’t understand Spanish, it provides some useful video footage of the factory and electric scooters.
