Tiny, Colorful, and Cute – 3-Wheeled Electric Scooter from Kyoto

If it’s little and cute, chances are it’s either made in Japan or will soon be available there. This ultra-compact 3-wheeled and currently nameless electric scooter announced by Kyoto’s first venture company, Green Lord Motors, is both.
The 3-wheeled scooter was primarily designed by a student at the Kyoto Institute of Technology, but the entire project has been a joint venture with several names attached. The Kyoto Electric Vehicle Working Group, established by the Kyoto Next Generation Electric Car Partnership Club, kicked off the whole affair. Also participating are NEC, Neues, Kyoto University Venture Business Laboratory, and (of course), the Kyoto Institute of Technology.
In addition to its bright colors and three wheels, the little scooter also has a mechanism intended to stabilize its rear wheels. No mention has been made as to how this will affect maneuverability. It also intends to address the weak point of most Japanese electric vehicles – they do poorly on steep slopes. To that end, it has a high-performance electric engine developed in cooperation with NEC.
No word yet on when the 3-wheeler will be available, what its range will be, or how much it will cost – but it’s definitely trendy and super cute!
