Hi, what are you looking for?

CleanTechnica
Just a note for all you solar lovers (I think we've got a few on here :D): SolarDay 2011 is tomorrow, June 18 (in Canada, the U.S., and the UK). You have to love the line from the folks behind this great day: "The world's energy future: 50 years of oil reserves, 200 years of coal reserves and at least 5 billion years of solar energy." That puts things into perspective a bit, eh?

Just a note for all you solar lovers (I think we’ve got a few on here :D): SolarDay 2011 is tomorrow, June 18 (in Canada, the U.S., and the UK).

This is the 3rd annual Solar Day and the celebration has grown significantly in the past few years. The day, which now includes various events by cities, non-profits, companies, and the solar industry, started out as bio-diesel bus tours of solar homes and businesses hosted by the City of San Francisco in 2009. In 2010, there were events in 26 U.S. cities.

One more nice quote from the folks behind SolarDay 2011:

Buying a solar installation costing tens of thousands of dollars for a home or business is perhaps the ultimate economic commitment for both a green lifestyle and working environment. Solar can be thought of as the next step in the “Greening of America” movement that includes driving a hybrid car, shopping for organic and sustainably-farmed foods, doing business with green companies, recycling, saving energy and avoiding, as much as possible the burning of finite and polluting fossil fuels that play a significant role in the production of greenhouse gases and global warming.

Hear! Hear!

Check in over on the Solar Day website to find out if there are events in your area you can get involved in or consider organizing your own. And, on such a day, consider taking the leap and going solar (if you haven’t already). Or, at least, look into it!
