BMW’s electric arm, BMW i, has teamed up with green electricity provider Good Energy in order to offer British BMW i customers 100% green electricity.

In other words, BMW i3 and BMW i8 owners who get the Good Energy package can quickly respond to anyone who tries to pull out some BS comment regarding the cleanliness of the electricity their new cars use. (Note: that argument doesn’t make much sense anywhere, as electric motors are much more efficient than gasoline engines and they also don’t pollute one’s local environment at all, but that’s all a story for another day.)

Good Energy gets 100% of its electricity from British renewable resources.

Of course, this is similar to the BMW i + solar package offered in partnership with SolarCity in the US, which is just part of the BMW 360° Electric package BMW offers.

BMW’s rollout of a comprehensive cleantech offering is certainly one of the hottest electric vehicle stories of the year.
