Tesla Model 3

Tesla’s Veiled Swipe At The Chevy Bolt

When I was going through the Q4 2017 Tesla shareholder letter for a recent article, what might seem like a minor comment caught my attention. Tesla wrote, “We incorporated all the learnings from the development and production of Roadster, Model S, and Model X to create the world’s first mass market electric vehicle that is priced on par with its gasoline-powered equivalents – even without incentives.”

If A Tesla Pattern Has Emerged, What Does That Mean For Model 3?

We humans have a tendency to stare at one tree and forget about the forest, let alone the even broader world around the forest. For example, we perhaps look at our president and think it’s the end of our country, when it’s really just a 3-point drop in our level of democracy*. When it comes to the restless tech world and our various consumer product addictions, this is certainly true as well. Is Tesla immune to that? Quite the opposite.

The Toyota Way (#CleanTechnica Occasional #BookClub)

With the Toyota Production System making a guest appearance on the latest Tesla quarterly conference call, this is as good time as any to review what TPS – often referred to as “lean manufacturing” or simply “lean” – actually is. And what better way to do so than to read The Toyota Way: 14 Management Principles from the World’s Greatest Manufacturer? The Toyota Way is one of the most influential books about this manufacturing approach — or system of approaches.

What’s Up With The $35,000 Tesla Model 3 Delay?

A few weeks ago, almost immediately after the quarterly Tesla conference call, emails went out to Tesla Model 3 reservation holders telling us that delivery timelines had changed. In particular, estimated delivery times for the shorter range $35,000 Model 3 were being pushed back — for everyone. Well, Tesla didn’t explicitly say they were being pushed back for everyone, but that’s what we gathered based on simple and straightforward logic.

Tesla Model 3 Deliveries In February — What Do You Think?

I was about to close out the month and get off the computer (at 2:20 am, admittedly), but then something obvious hit me — why not crowdsource the coming Tesla Model 3 delivery estimate for the month of February?

I generally base Tesla delivery estimates for my monthly US electric car sales reports on many factors, but I’ve somehow not previously thought to tap the vast CleanTechnica reader knowledge & speculation base for support.
