The Tesla Model 3 is an amazing vehicle, but it comes up a little short when it comes to hauling around lots of gear. Specifically, bikes. Our pals over at EVAnnex reached out to us about reviewing the EcoHitch for the Tesla Model 3. We jumped in with both feet. Our task: install and test the EcoHitch and the Undercover adapter.
When I placed my reservation for the Tesla Model 3 back in April 2016, I had not imagined I would have to wait that long for the car. During the wait, after having leased a few other EVs, I happened to buy an old bricked (as in, dead engine) and brick-shaped Volvo 240 out of sheer desperation. The idea was to ditch the internal combustion engine that had stalled back in 2012 due to a faulty thermostat and left to rot, and replace it with a nice electric kit.
My Tesla Model 3 is named “Colin,” named after a small security guard robot in the Douglas Adam’s novel The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy that is captured and gets its reward circuits rewired to find ecstatic pleasure in anything its master commands of it! However, it seems Colin has limits.
This is more of an initial report of why I chose a certain set of tires for my Model 3 rather than a final account for lifetime cost. Hopefully it will take many, many miles before I’ll be able to add it all up.
Last night before going to bed I noticed one of my friends on Twitter (Sofiaan) was getting a new software update (2019.36.1). I read a little about it and then I noticed I got it too! I set it to install and went to sleep. When I woke up, I took Henry for a spin to try out the new features. Before I give you my impressions, I’ll go over the 4 enhancements.
A few days ago I told you what I thought was going on at the IAA 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, and that was quite an eye opener for me. One single model stole the show.
