Energy Flexibility Forum — A New European Platform For Key Stakeholders In The Transition Towards…

The organization SolarPlaza is organizing an important summit on 11 –12 June in Copenhagen called the Energy Flexibility Forum that will be a platform for key stakeholders to specify their needs, showcase their solutions, find their renewed roles and collaboratively take on market and regulatory barriers to accelerate the transition towards a flexible energy system.

Trump Fiddles As Fossil Fuels Burn

Coal and nuclear power are both dying, falling victim to natural gas and renewable energy. Trump used to blame the Democrats, and especially “Obama’s war on coal.” He used to take the position that removing subsidies for renewable power would be sufficient to bring a renaissance to the coal industry. But despite his efforts, coal plants have just kept closing.

Elon Musk Harpooned Baseload Power

With batteries like the Hornsdale Power Reserve, power from solar and wind power will be more valuable, because with battery backup their power can be used to supply an increasing share of baseload power. And that increase in value, which might not necessarily be reflected by an increase in price, makes their power all the more attractive.

California Requires Solar Panels On New Homes 5 Years After 1st California City Did

California can stand up against whatever flavor of the year Washington, D.C., tries to impose on the rest on the country. As the world’s 5th largest economy, it continues to push for renewable energy and electric vehicles despite an unruly political landscape that has slowed down cleaning up our pollution. Once more, California has forged ahead, with the latest news being that it is requiring most new homes to be solar energy ready.

Solar Technologies Of Days Gone By — Solar Thermal Trains, Solar-Powered Ice Cream Makers, &…

Solar energy has been exploited in direct capacities, for various purposes, well before solar photovoltaic cell and module technology became the most prominent example of “solar energy technology.” Solar stills, solar cookers, sunlight concentrators, solar furnaces, solar fire starters, et cetera, have a long history of use and/or suggestion of use. For instance, there’s fairly good evidence (though disputed by some academics) that solar fire-starters have been in use in Central Asia for a fair many thousands of years.
