Tesla has adjusted its strategy in Connecticut. It has quietly dropped its appeal of the state’s franchise dealer law and begun leasing cars at its service facility in Milford.
Good news, bad news for Tesla yesterday. China says it may soon lift the 40% tariff it imposed on cars imported from the US, and a judge in Connecticut has ruled the company is illegally selling cars at its store in Connecticut.
Bills have been introduced in the legislatures of Wisconsin and Nebraska that would carve out an exception so Tesla could sell its electric cars direct to the public. Franchise dealer groups, predictably, are vehemently opposed to such foolishness.
