British Wind Power Sets New Generation Record

The British wind energy industry is celebrating another milestone this week after the country's grid operator revealed that wind generation hit new highs during the previous week, producing a new high of 14.9 gigawatts (GW), or around 33% of Britain's electricity needs at a time of high demand. 


British Renewables Hits 42 Gigawatts & Surpasses Fossil Fuels

Pushed over the line by two coal-to-biomass conversions and continuing growth in offshore wind, the British renewable energy industry finally surpassed the capacity levels of its fossil fuel predecessors, with total capacity reaching 42 gigawatts (GW) in the third quarter, beating out the fossil fuel industry which only has 40.6 GW. 


UK Wind Farms Provide 44% Of Electricity Demand

The wind was blowing strong across the UK on Saturday as the country's wind turbines generated a new record of 14.3 gigawatts by the end of the day, and accounting for as much as 44.5% of total electricity demand during the mid- to late-afternoon
