As someone who covered climate science during the Russian-fabricated “climategate” scandal and who has moderated thousands of comment threads (tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of comments) on clean energy, electric vehicle, and climate matters for approximately 7 years, I have come to learn a few things about the “democratic web.”
America will be a different place after the Trump inauguration. The concepts of liberalism on which the country was founded will be replaced by avarice. The people will become little more than low wage workers in a new feudal society owned and managed by corporations.
When you build a campaign on hate, on racism, on xenophobia, on bullying, on slander, and on shockingly absurd lies, the backlash is going to build on that energy. I think Trump must have seen this coming.
