Giving an overview of what to expected over the next few months, the Solar Energy Corporation of India announced three tenders for solar power projects within the first week of this year.
Solairedirect, an international solar developer backed by French energy major Engie, is currently behind schedule for setting up a 250 megawatt solar power project in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh as there are no buyers identified for the power to be generated.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in India has put a notification to impose heavy penalties if states or project developers unilaterally modify or move to renegotiate solar power purchase agreements.
Solairedirect, a company owned by French utility Engie, recently won rights to develop a 250-megawatt solar power project in the Kadapa solar power park being developed in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Three of these states (Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh) have been leading in terms of fresh capacity added this financial year, data up to 31 October 2016 released by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy shows.
