Montecito Fire Protection District Solar Microgrid To Be A National Model

A project to build a solar+storage community microgrid within the Montecito, CA, fire district is being developed as a national model for other communities across the country, according to the Clean Coalition and the World Business Academy. The two organizations are boot-strapping the project and have raised some funding for the microgrid, within the unincorporated community of about 10,000 in Santa Barbara County.

Southern California Edison Increases Plug-In Vehicle Rebate To $1000 For 2019

California utility Southern California Edison has increased the rebate available to customers who purchase or lease a new or used plug-in vehicle on or after January 1st, 2019 through its Clean Fuel Reward Program. The increase raises the maximum funds available through the impressive rebate from $450 to $1,000 for 2019 and stacks on top of any existing federal, state, and local rebates that may be available to customers.

Irvine Ranch Water District Adds Tesla Powerpacks, Estimates Annual Savings of $500,000

The Irvine Water District and Michelson Capital announced the completion of the nation’s largest behind-the-meter energy storage project at the Irvine Ranch Water District’s (IRWD) Michelson Water Recycling Plant. The new 2.5MW/15MWh installation is a part of a distributed network of 11 energy storage installations at the water district’s recycling and pumping facilities that together total 7MW/34MWh.
