Tesla: Russia’s Top Propaganda Target

September 27th, 2019 | by Guest Contributor

If you were to search for a typical article about Tesla in the media outlet RT (formerly called Russia Today, and Russia’s most prominent international information/propaganda outlet), it is likely that you would come away with the impression that Tesla is a company led by an incompetent CEO producing pathetic, highly dangerous, and unpopular cars

In Tesla Earnings Week, The FUD Strikes Back — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 22

February 4th, 2019 | by Vijay Govindan

Last week was earnings weeks for Tesla. We are going to change up the report a bit this week and discuss the top 5 FUD headlines before going into the regular #Pravduh about #Tesla report. My "kudos" to CNBC for covering Tesla in every which way possible, some of which I didn't know existed or wanted to exist. I'll start with two CNBC pieces

Tesla Headlines This Week: 50 Positive, 25 Negative, 25 Neutral — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 19

January 15th, 2019 | by Chanan Bos

This past week was one of the most positive and least negative we have had so far with regards to Tesla headlines in the mainstream media, but it doesn't actually break any records. There were a few unusual things about the news coverage this week. For example, Bloomberg was extremely positive. That said, a lot of news can't be categorized easily in a topic group of recurring headlines, and more so when not related to Tesla stock. Two good examples this week

Media Coverage Of Tesla News In The New Year (+ New Media Outlets) — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 18

January 8th, 2019 | by Chanan Bos

This week, we have a very special report for a variety of reasons. Ever since we started our Pravduh initiative, people have suggested other news sources. So, we decided to add multiple new news sources in 2019, also going all the way back to September 1st (collecting and rating all articles from these sources) in order to maintain the ability for month-to-month and year-to-year comparisons. The news sources being added are: CBS, NBC, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, New York Post, and Huffington Post

A Not So Merry FUDmas — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 16

December 24th, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

This past week, the stock market kept panicking, everyone was looking at what is going on in the White House, and the most positive major thing that happened was Elon Musk unveiling the first Boring Company tunnel. At the same time, there was a lot of negative news regarding Tesla: 10 stories related to the stock market, 10 about a few people departing Tesla, 6 about the spontaneous combustion of a Tesla Model S (whose battery was apparently shot — like, with a gun), and the rest on various other topics

A Week Of FUD — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 15

December 17th, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

Only a week to go till Christmas and Tesla failing seems to be on the wish list of certain journalists, but because their paycheck probably comes in part from fossil fuels, a lump of coal is all they will get for their troubles. Some of the headlines that we saw this week were so outrageous that they have no place in the mainstream media, a tabloid maybe. This is what we mean

Increased Tesla Chatter Around The Wall Street Water Cooler — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 14

December 11th, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

As the title implies, the bulls and bears are back, even if the amount of "vocal" bears have diminished in numbers. At first glance, this might not be very visible. After all, there is less negative news this week. However, if you check the recurring headlines chart, the number of articles related to the stock market has gone up significantly. That doesn't even include the articles that mention that Tesla might choose to pay off debt with stock

#Pravduh About #Tesla — 3 Month Review Of Top Publishers

December 8th, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

As promised in last week's #Pravduh about #Tesla report, here is a breakdown of all the publishers we track and how their coverage has changed over the past 3 months. We were also planning to release a breakdown of the authors. However, since this article is already quite long, we decided to postpone that till next week

Mainstream Media Gets Desperate For “Creative” Headlines — #Pravduh About #Tesla Report 10

November 12th, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

Before we start, we would like to give a shout-out to Zac & Jesse from the YouTube channel "Now You Know" for mentioning our reports on their show. You guys are awesome! Some might say this has been a slow news week for Tesla. There were only 122 articles this week and the average over the past 9 weeks is around 190. This slow news week, however, is quite artificial. It's a choice, because there was plenty of news that the mainstream media just decided to not report at all or only briefly cover

#Pravduh About #Tesla October Report — Not Much To Be Negative About, But 220 Negative Headlines Nonetheless

November 5th, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

We are very excited to be able to tell you that while this month started out not that well, the last few weeks totally made up for that and the results show it. We would very much like to thank Maye Musk for retweeting our reports and calling out the most negative, sad, biased authors. While we can't be sure what helped the most, we believe that the actions of Maye Musk and the times Elon Musk liked and commented on the reports have slowly helped bring some of the mainstream media back to their senses over the last two months

Tesla Coverage Swings Positive In The Mass Media — #Pravduh Report 7

October 22nd, 2018 | by Chanan Bos

In the name of Tesla and all of its supporters, I proclaim that this week is a win. This is the first week since September 1st (when we started #Pravduh) that there is more positive news about Tesla than negative news. As a matter of fact, if I hadn’t had my cup of coffee, I might have thought that I accidentally mislabeled and switched the positive and negative categories. Only 14% negative news!
