We’re more than 50% through the first day of our first EV charging conference —West Meets East: Charging Central & Eastern Europe’s Electromobility Revolution — which is part of our Cleantech Revolution Tour. Hundreds of useful comments have already been thrown around, but I’m going to try to consolidate some of the top points.

The Economist has an interesting and informative new video up: “Electric cars will come of age in 2018.” The Economist supports that view that the global tipping point for electric cars may well be 2018 based on information regular CleanTechnica readers know well, but it’s great to see such communication in the mass media.
Four European automakers have teamed up to create a fast charger network in Europe. The system will use the CCS protocol. 400 charge points are planned by the end of 2020.
Boosted Boards is widely known as the leader in electrified skateboards. The very usable design — with 7 miles of range, an intuitive controller, and rider-friendly specs — made the first Boosted Board a winner off the line. It was more than capable as an around-town commuter board, a solution to the last mile for many transit riders, and perhaps most importantly, just a ton of fun to ride.

David Beeton is a leading researcher and policy instigator in the e-mobility world, and more broadly. He founded Urban Foresight in 2011 and has been rolling strong as Managing Director of the company.
