American solar PV manufacturer First Solar has been awarded the contract to supply 140 MW worth of solar modules to the Sun Metals Solar Farm in North Queensland, Australia — the largest solar project in the country.
The most simplistic — but I think quite valid — way I can find of describing the differences is that there are 1) moderate “small government” Republicans, 2) extremist anti-government Republicans with shallow ideological perspective but who actually like social support systems and basic societal protection (just don’t realize this until it touches their lives), and 3) extremely extremist Republicans who think the whole system needs to be destroyed to some degree or another.
A report published last week by Bloomberg New Energy Finance showed that new ultra-supercritical coal would be the most expensive form of new energy supply in Australia, well above the Levelised Cost of Energy for other sources such as wind, solar, and natural gas.

Everyone hates paying for something that they don’t use (how many cable channels do you have?). In California, local electricity customers may finally get satisfaction about paying for the transmission grid capacity that they don’t use.
I respect that anyone in the spotlight has an opportunity to focus fans of their art and craft on important social issues. This is a good thing. Education and a democracy work through integration, action, and response.
Multiple people have asked me to chime in on the Elon Musk and Donald Trump “partnership.” The requests have popped up for months. I’ve also noticed a lot of commentary — on Twitter, here on CleanTechnica, and elsewhere — that implies Elon has turned evil or is sacrificing his morals by working with Trump.
