Gro Brundtland is the “grandmother of sustainability.” She is a true legend, and the roots of “sustainability” and “sustainable development” sprouted in the famous report named after her, Our Common Future, also known as the Brundtland Report. Gro was the deserved winner of the 2016 Zayed Future Energy Prize Lifetime Achievement Award, and I was lucky to spend some time with her in the midst of the Women in Sustainability, Environment, and Renewable Energy (WiSER) summit.
