Tesla continues to expand into new country markets. Perhaps it’s not doing so as quickly as BYD is, as the Chinese EV giant seems to be expanding into a new market every month, but the US company is gradually bringing its world leading Tesla Model Y (the best selling vehicle model in the world) and Model 3 to more markets.

Earlier this year, we reported on Tesla’s entrance into Chile with surprising pricing. See: “Tesla Announces Pricing in Chile for Model 3, Model Y — More Affordable Than Expected!” That followed Tesla’s first hires in the country at the end of 2023.

Aside from offering the Model Y and Model 3 in Chile at quite competitive pricing, though, there’s one more critical element to a successful Tesla rollout — Supercharging.

The @TeslaCharging account on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted the first two Tesla Supercharger locations in Chile this week.

The Chile flag-themed one is a nice touch.

These are indeed very small Tesla Supercharger stations. Each of them hosts just four 250 kW Supercharger stalls. Though, they also provide CCS charging for electric cars that need that.

It’s exciting to see Tesla’s expansion into Chile. More broadly, however, it’s super exciting to think about a Supercharger network growing from North America (where it’s abundant) down through the southern part of South America. These Chilean Superchargers are an early part of that much broader network down into Latin America. In fact, these might be the first two Tesla Superchargers in South America! That’s what it looks like.
