Tesla: Making Music Dreams Come True

Tesla is making music dreams come true for everyone who loves karaoke. Karaoke is one way we can musically express ourselves. Music both expresses and evokes emotion — forming a connection with the musician and the audience.

We all have dreams, ideals, and aspirations. Sometimes, people may look at us strangely when we state them. Elon Musk was laughed at when he wanted to purchase nukes from Russia so he could build rockets. Sometimes our dreams seem so outlandish. Yet sometimes they seem normal. Music captures both.

The idea of a karaoke machine in a car doesn’t seem outlandish, but it does seem like one of those things one would never consider. (Well, unless you watch a lot of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke.)

That said, YouTube user MachuPikachu not only reviewed Tesla’s new Caraoke feature, but he said that his dream was to always have a car with a karaoke machine. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always dreamed of having a car with one specific feature,” he says while introducing the video. “Maybe because of my Japanese ancestry, but what I’ve always wanted was a car with a karaoke machine inside. And that dream became true today with latest Tesla Model 3 updates.”

He and his coworkers formed a sextet and each had small instruments and microphones. They parked in San Diego’s East Village and recorded the video on the first take. The song they used tested out the feature with Faith by George Michael (RIP, George Michael).

For those who don’t know, the origins of karaoke are rooted in Japan. The word karaoke is a blend of the Japanese words kara  (空), which means “empty,” and oke (オケ), which is a shortened form of the English word “orchestra.” It basically means that there is no orchestra — which shows you how it was first used.

In 1971, Daisuke Inoue came up with an idea as a solution to a problem. The problem was they were unable to provide musical accompaniment for a sing-along cafe. The solution was a device that gave establishments a way to provide entertainment even though the band wasn’t there. By removing the lead singer’s vocals, the audience could still sing and have fun.

In a Reddit post, Machu Pikachu also said that, “I’m so psyched that Tesla has catered to my Japanese cultural heritage! I always had faith the M3 would be the best vehicle in the universe. I’ve had it for 21 months now and it’s getting closer to perfect.”

In the YouTube video description, he also has a message for Elon Musk:

“Thank you to Elon Musk and everyone at Tesla for catering to my Japanese cultural heritage. I had faith the M3 would be the best vehicle in the universe. This is not a commercial or a paid endorsement, by the way. (That said, we are open to being booked for Mr. Musk’s wedding or bar mitzvah.)”

One of the many things that people love about Elon Musk is that he listens to his customers, fans, supporters, and friends. He takes in their ideas and uses them to not just make an efficient product, but a fun one that serves many purposes. Everyone has many purposes in life, so why shouldn’t we have a car that also has more than one purpose? Life is short — we need to relax and enjoy it more before it’s gone.
