The German solar industry has walked away the sole winner from Germany’s most recent solar and onshore wind tender, receiving contracts for the entire 210 megawatts (MW) awarded in an auction which was heavily oversubscribed.
The bid prices in Germany’s second onshore wind round in 2018 rose to an average of €57 per megawatt-hour (MWh), slightly up on the €47.3/MWh which was recorded only a few months ago in February, in a surprisingly undersubscribed tender process.
Derived from German-language reports, Germany’s Federal Environment Minister, Peter Altmaier, announced that the country had added 290 megawatts (MW) of new photovoltaic capacity in March.
