CleanTechnica Launches CleanTechnica.pics

One of the challenges of cleantech blogging is actually regarding the images, rather than the text. It can be quite hard to find good photos of electric cars, certain solar & wind energy topics, and other green matters that we can legally use.
Flickr is great, but it seems that it’s been a bit dead in recent years and we aren’t finding many new options there. Company-provided images are fine, but they’re often overly airbrushed and fake for our tastes. Plus, we just get tired of using the same images over and over. We had an account for a stock photo site for a while, but we didn’t end up using it very much, and didn’t need it, so it didn’t seem like a worthwhile cost.
With so many of our own original photos of electric cars, solar panels, and wind turbines growing, we decided to launch our own photo-sharing site — CleanTechnica.pics — to make it easier for writers to find original photos that we could use, and to provide the service to other people out there who may be looking for the same.
To find photos of a specific technology, car, place, etc., simply head over to the magnifying glass icon in the top-right corner, type in what you are looking for, and hit enter.
Or, you can simply type the topic into that URL after cleantechnica.pics/tag/

The only thing you are asked to do in order to use any of the photos on CleanTechnica.pics is credit them in the way indicated on the photo page.
We still have a lot of photos to add, and will be taking photos many days of the year and adding them there, but I think we have enough for the time being to officially announce the site. 😀
