New Tesla Superchargers Open In Nevada, California
The charge forward of electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors continues unabated — especially when it comes to the number of Supercharging stations it has deployed around the world. Tesla currently boasts 597 locations with Supercharging, meaning there are 597 unique locations around the world with Supercharging… and a total of 3,481 individual charging ports. This rounds out to almost 6 chargers per station, which at most locations, is more than sufficient.
“Locals” using Superchargers for normal “fill-ups” has become a problem at some stations in a few wealthy areas, as can be seen at a recent post over in the Tesla forum on Reddit. I won’t get into how ironic it is that wealthy residents of Southern California find it necessary to utilize Superchargers to top up….
Most recently, the Beatty (Nevada) Supercharger opened up, liberating more of central Nevada and eastern California to Tesla drivers looking to explore… or just to get to Vegas for some gambling. The Beatty supercharger pairs nicely with the recently opened chargers in Fresno (central California) and Buttonwillow (south-central) California.
For all of the latest and greatest updates on which Superchargers are open, which are being permitted, under construction, etc, head on over to Supercharge.Info. This site is packed with up-to-date details and is a regular destination for me as I look for new routes that I can head out on without having to worry about finding a charger. My current favorite route in progress is the California coastal route, with two stations in progress up in Northern California.
Head on over to the site and find your favorite Supercharging-enabled — or soon to be Supercharging-enabled — route for the current status.
