2017 Chevy Bolt Production Version Spy Photos Leak
Serial Spy Photographer Brian Williams (no, not that Brian Williams) caught some über sneaky spy photos of what looks to be the production version of the new 2017 Chevy Bolt. Several news outlets are covering the pics, but the easiest way to spy them yourself is via a simple Google Search like this one (it’s the silver one).
To me, the final version looks pretty sharp. It definitely looks a lot like the new Chevy Volt was squished into the Bolt concept outline. I miss some of the bold features of the concept like the stubbier, grill-less front end, the panoramic glass moonroof (though, this could plausibly be an option), and the rounded out rear window, but overall, I like the little guy!
Even with these shots, I’m getting more and more excited to get all up in the new Bolt’s business at CES 2016 in just a few weeks. I want to look under the hood, check out the interior, see the specs, and dig into the Chevy reps at the show. Maybe more importantly than all of this — when can we buy it?! These shots are reassuring to see that the concept hasn’t been butchered beyond recognition, while at the same time, gaining a look that likely appeals to a broader audience. What exciting times we are living in!
I’m now thinking back to some of our reader comments on the earlier Bolt concept photos about how they expected it to be sized like and look like the Buick Encore, because it was built on the same platform as the encore… and the production version does indeed look a LOT like it! Below is a stock photo of the Encore zipping around. Specifically, the windows and the posture look a lot like the new Bolt.
