We’ve known since Sept 2 that the first Tesla Model X SUVs would be delivered to owners on September 29. Immediately, many of us started assuming an event for the revealing of the final vehicle would take place at that time as well. But then Signature reservation holders who were asked to configure but had not yet seen the vehicle asked Tesla personnel if there would be such an event on the 29th — and they were apparently told there would not be one. Either some Tesla staff were uninformed, some were fibbing, or the plans changed, because invites started going out today for exactly such an event.
The California Air Resource Board has also now added the Model X to vehicles eligible to use HOV lanes in California, and it has reportedly received Tesla’s application for the X to be eligible for the $2,500 California ZEV rebate. Reportedly, the Model X should be on the list of vehicles eligible for that rebate by the end of the week.
