National Drive Electric Week (September 12–20) is quickly approaching. If you haven’t committed to joining an event yet, check out the 147 (and counting) events already planned across the country. If there isn’t an event in a convenient location for you, consider starting an event!
Not sure what National Drive Electric Week is, exactly? Initiator Plug In America summarizes, “National Drive Electric Week, September 12-20, 2015, is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Are you considering going electric? Come talk to owners who have successfully done so.”

Recent surveys we’ve conducted with electric car owners/lessees and wannabe owners/lessees have indicated that a key way to advance the EV revolution is simply to give more people the experience of driving an electric vehicle. The drive quality and quick acceleration speak for themselves. That’s largely the point of National Drive Electric Week — to show people what they never knew they were missing. It’s fun, but also very useful.
So, if you haven’t signed up for an event yet, take this weekend as an opportunity to either join or start a National Drive Electric Week event near you.
