Australian Comedian Sums Up Idiocy Of Country’s RET Debate

Around the world there are TV news programs that are biased one way or the other; that are intended to inform, or mislead; and hosted by experts or laymen. However, in Australia, following one of the premier evening news services, there is another type of news program, The Project, which is hosted by Australian comedians who have taken the level of journalistic integrity up a notch.

That’s right, one of the most influential and positive news services in Australia is hosted each weeknight by comedians.

This Thursday night, Australian comedian Waleed Aly did a 4-minute “expose” of sorts on the debacle that is the current Australian political conundrum surrounding our Renewable Energy Target. He sums up by concluding that the current political debacle is “a Willful Disregard for the disregard for the future of this nation by the people we’ve elected to lead us.”

In short, for the first time, the idiocy that is the RET debate here in Australia has finally been brought front and centre, and the arguments make sense.
