We’ve now got our first look at the 2016 Chevy Volt (see below), thanks to Chevrolet deciding to show off the plug-in hybrid electric car at an event the night before the Consumer Electronics Show actually began.

The official unveiling of the model is still expected to happen next week in Detroit (where we’ll have a few people on the ground), but for now this is what we’ve got. A pretty good first look at the anticipated car.

This actually isn’t the first time that Chevy has shown off the model, but previously — such as at a private showing last month in LA — those that have seen it have been obligated to sign non-disclosure agreements. No such restrictions this time. Enjoy.

The 2016 Chevy Volt looks a lot better than the original Chevy Volt, imo. But it still mostly looks like a normal car, which isn’t really my thing. We’ll see how consumers respond.
