On Wednesday, we wrote about Palo Alto’s new legislation requiring that all new homes be pre-wired for electric vehicles. Pretty awesome, imho. One of the Palo Alto residents who advocated for this legislation tweeted me after we published that article. He or she* was happy to see Palo Alto featured on CleanTechnica for this pioneering EV legislation. In a follow-up tweet, he/she also passed along a video a handful of Palo Alto residents (including the tweeter, I assume) created in support of progressive EV charging legislation. In particular, as the video shows, the creators were expressing their support for:

  • requiring all new parking construction to be EV ready
  • streamlining & reducing fees for EV charger permits
  • expanding the current residential curbside EV charging pilot program

I thought the video was pretty cool, but I also thought the neighborhood’s unique EV charger was something worth highlighting. The EV charger may be the only one like it in the US. Check it out:

*As I write this, I’m actually not sure which of the family members did the tweeting.
