The Los Angeles Business Council has put out a great video on solar power in LA, especially highlighting LA’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) program, CLEAN LA. Check it out:

“No entity did more to bring about LA’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) program than the Los Angeles Business Council,” Run on Sun founder & CEO Jim Jenal states.

We are heading toward the opening of the Second Tranche of the FiT program where a total of 20MW of production capacity will be available (4MW set aside for “small” projects between 30 and 150 kW) at a base price for energy of $0.16/kWh.

There is a fairly lengthy application process so folks who are interested in submitting for the Second Tranche are encouraged to contact us now.

We’ve written about CLEAN LA a few times here on CleanTechnica. Naturally, this is all part of the Mayor’s plan to make Los Angeles coal-free by 2025.

Reports from the Washington post and other media out lets are reporting that carbon dioxide C02 emission are the worst ever record in man kind. We installed billion and billions of dollars of renewable energy, yet we are going backwards, not forward with renewable energy. I was told that rooftop solar power programs like the FiT and CSI would reduce C02 emissions on the world stage so why didn’t it work given that we made no ground on C02 emissions, so why did I install solar power on my roof for if C02 emissions head North, not South.

We are only at the start of conversion. We still have many coal/cement plants pumping CO2 out. And fossil fuel has been fighting tooth and name to stop that conversion. Look how long the US CAP was locked in at a fix rate or that light truck are not treated as passenger cars. But on the positive in many places in the world PV and wind are now cheaper than coal so new power is turning green based on money savings.

But we should of seen a result by now, this has not happen, this is concerning me that people are using more energy under renewable grid connected solar system then before.
