Even at the most conservative settings, computer screen shut-offs don’t usually go into effect for a few minutes. We all know how a few minutes adds up when there are millions of people stepping away from their computers everyday. To combat that waste of energy, Ecobeneficios has put out an app that turns off your screen the second you step away!
The GreenCam app uses your computer’s camera as a sensor to detect whether you are busily typing away at your desk or shooting the breeze at the water cooler. It’s a good thing the app doesn’t report its findings to your boss.
