Ohio Supports 25,000 Green Jobs
July 19th, 2012 by Chelsea
Ohio is leaving behind notions of dirty industry and moving up the ranks in green jobs. The Advanced Energy Economy Institute has reported that Ohio now has 25,000 jobs across 410 companies that work in renewable energy, energy efficiency, or high-tech manufacturing.
The Brookings Institute reports Ohio has more than 105,000 clean energy jobs, using a broader definition of clean economy.
Ohio’s still got forces working against its green industries, namely the failure to extend a wind production tax credit that would have secured a $20-million wind project in the state.
